STYLE WAYS TO CHILDPROOF YOUR HOME
We know the importance of keeping you home classy while designing around your children’s activities. Though for some the kids truly do takeover, we will not let this happen to you!
Check out these useful childproofing tips!
Use indoor/outdoor fabrics…
Using versatile fabrics that work both indoors and out are much easier to clean and more durable for those sticky fingers!
Avoid a toy overload with baskets…
To avoid clutter you must designate spaces for your children’s toys. If you have special organization for these items, it won’t feel like a toy takeover. You can make clean up easy with stylish baskets. Baskets keep items neat and hidden.
Keep you nice home items our of reach…
Keep your antiques and precious pieces at a higher location so you don’t have to feel nervous about them. For example, since the coffee table is a play zone for most children, keep a tray, books, and other objects that aren’t fragile on the table.
Teach the importance of nice things when they are young…
Never say no to that beautiful but delicate home item. You must teach your children the importance of certain items at an early age so they know the rules. This will help avoid any accidents.

BISCAYNE PARK OUTDOOR SCULPTURE COMPETITION
As many of you know I am an avid supporter of the fine arts, especially here in Miami. I am happy to announce this friendly design competition in a national park!
The Village of Biscayne Park is looking for artists to submit applications to the 2016 juried outdoor sculpture competition, “Art Is in Our Nature.” Up to three winners will be chosen to display their work in prominent Biscayne Park locations for one year.
Since the village is an official bird sanctuary and home to butterflies, bees, squirrels and other wildlife, submissions to the city’s Public Art Advisory Board should reflect the environment.

LUXURY INTERIOR DESIGN DECORATION INSPIRATION OF THE WEEK: HARDWOOD
It is not the easiest task to choose your hardwood when renovating a room or redecorating your home. I am going to enlighten you with all of the thoughts that come up when choosing your wood and hopefully make the process easier.
To create a home’s atmosphere with luxury and endless satisfaction one needs to ask themselves a few important questions.
Board Widths: You can select from narrow strips of wood to wider planks parquet squares, and rectangles. Wood strips always give the illusion of more space!
Wood Species: Hardwood species vary in durability, grain patterns, and color. Oak, maple, and cherry are among the most common species due to their hardness. Exotic woods like mahogany, and Brazilian cherry aren’t as durable, but are valued for their remarkable appearance.
Colors: Hardwoods runs the scale from blond to black, this depends on the species and finish.
Textures: Get old hardwood floors to look shiny and new, or buy brand new wood that looks antique. Timeworn character makes your floors have gusto and origin.
Hardness: Active households with pets and kids need the hardest wood for stability and ware. Also a darker wood that will hide any future stains.
Finish: Hardwood finishes provide protection as well as vibrant color and luster. Most commercial hardwood comes prefinished; this simplifies the installation and eliminates dust, chemical fumes, and waiting time.
While solid hardwood can be repeatedly refinished, engineered hardwood flooring can only be refinished a limited number of times.
I hope you keep these thoughts in mind while choosing your next floors!
