Whether is it art exhibits or design events I love to share them with you. It’s a great thing I have this blog!

Opening this year in Miami is the brand new Brickell Shopping Center, an epic en plein air mall. The most state-of the art feature called the “Climate Ribbon” will keep the shoppers cool in the heat.

The “Climate Ribbon” is a thousand-foot cascading canopy of crumpled steel and clear insulating glass. This environmentally sustainable mass will run over and through four city blocks.

It is engineered to admit natural light while shading shoppers and channeling the breeze. This amazing invention is the first of its kind and will be showcasing here in Miami!

DECORATION INSPIRATION OF THE WEEK: WOOD VS IRON

Trends in interior design come and go but today I am going to talk to you about the classiness of wood. My inspiration of the week stems from two different, yet iconic ways to furnish and stylize your home, wood being the more traditional of the two.

When decorating your home it is important to evoke who you are and what you represent. Wooden furniture is on the rise again and I am going to share some facts about this commodity with you!

Whether you are in Miami, New York, or Texas, wood will always be in fashion!

At first it was thought that wrought-iron furniture could have unlimited possibilities to bring panache to your home. This copper and steel look can really bring a sleek look to a room. However the luxury that superior wood brings in outstanding.

Currently there is a higher preference for long lasting and affordable wood. The benefits of wooden furniture include lending more space to a room, versatility with polished and natural looks, and longevity. Wood is definitely worth the investment!

As apposed to wrought iron that can corrode and lose sheen, quality wood will increase value with age and last a lifetime!

NEW YORK HIGHLINE MAY BE COMING TO SOUTH FLORIDA

If you’ve been reading for a while, you know by now that I get very excited when I come across new infrastructures being built in Miami. Architecture and design is vital to South Florida.

Luxury Interior Design and Real Estate are two major industries that thrive off of location and surroundings.

I would love to share with you this ‘Underline’ park that should be coming to Miami in the near future!

New York City is full of glorious architecture and state-of-the-art edifices. The famous New York Highline Park spans across an old elevated railroad track down the west side of Manhattan Island. Located in the Chelsea neighborhood, a cultural hub filled with art galleries and high-end shops. It draws many tourists as well as New York natives to take a stroll and take in the urban cityscape.

I am thrilled to see such a great park being built in South Florida. It will attract more tourism as well as raising the bar in surrounding neighborhoods. This park can create a higher end marketplace for many shops and homes around the it.

Keeps your eyes peeled for this amazing park, to be named the ‘Underline’, up and open in July!

DECORATION INSPIRATION OF THE WEEK: FEATHERS

Feathers are a unique natural symbol that can bring tranquility and nature into your home.

Accessories are truly important to shaping the ambience of a room. Collecting the right pieces can emulate and evoke genuine elegance.

There are many different ways to infuse feathers into your aesthetic. A bronze feather statue can show regality or perhaps a removable wall decal of a feathery natural scape. Use this inspiration of the week to refresh your home.
