TOP 3 WAYS TO REFRESH YOUR SPACE

The New Year truly signifies a new start. Why not take this opportunity to make changes for the better and take the reigns of your interiors. One way to start this home refresh is by completing uncompleted parts of your home

You can truly accomplish a lot on a budget with a “can do” mentality. Wanting to make your home cozy and extraordinary is important to lead a happy life. Today I am going to show you a few ways to make change and refresh your home!

Put up a fresh coat of paint!
If you have furniture pieces you love, but know they need that upgrade, a fresh coat of paint is the perfect budget friendly solution! You can refinish wood furniture with a stain or gloss, or paint metal with acrylics. Paint dipping is a super cool trend to give your pieces a refresh as well.

Get a bookshelf!
Bookshelves are one of the most versatile pieces of furniture. They create storage space that is functional and fashionable. If you have just moved I suggest getting one of these as soon as possible! A Bookshelf will help you unpack those boxes and get your books and belongings in order. Now you can easily personalize your space without the worry of messing up the drywall.

Hang up your art!
Those empty walls are lonely and begging to be filled! Luckily for you there are so many different ways you can hang artwork without damaging your walls.

If you are looking for art to decorate your apartment, or fill the space above your couch, I suggest taking a look at Society6.

HIGH END INTERIOR DECORATION INSPIRATION OF THE WEEK: ORANGE

If your home is lacking the feeling of energy and you are looking for burst, look no further than the power of orange! The color orange can quickly vamp up your space and help brighten any room!

Today I am going to share with you note-worthy ways to incorporate orange hues into your home.

Expand your space with color
Not all rooms are built with natural light. The best way to design around the infrastructure is to bring the brightness in another way. Using bright colors that pop such as lime green and electric orange are a sure way to make the room seem larger and brighter.

Furnishings with orange hues
If you are used to designing with simplicity and relying on black and white, but are ready to spice things up, try using a variety of muted orange tones for your furnishings. You can do this by getting an ottoman or a chase lounge in the shade of an autumn hue.

Highlight focal points in your room
Using the power of orange you can direct attention to any part of the room you choose. You can achieve this goal by adding tangerine accent accessories near the conversation pieces the room may hold.

LOOKING BACK AT 2015 IN MIAMI

Today I am going to highlight a few huge moves that came to Miami this past year.

We see great optimism and success for growth in the New Year, now us look back and reflect on the growth and livelihood of this vibrant city of Miami.

The Design District comes to life.
The up and coming Design District has finally come to life. Hermès, Loewe, and Cartier set up shop just blocks from one another. Though designer prices are high and not for the average consumer, the Design District has worked with local artists and collaborators outside the world of designer goods making the neighborhood accessible and glamorous.

Galleries flock out of Wynwood.
There has been a shift in artsy neighborhoods when the trendy boutiques and juice bars moved into Wynwood. Little Haiti, Little River, and Allapattah has been the new art gallery mecca of Miami. This change came with some significant pushback from Wynwood residents, fearful of being displaced by tourists with no roots to the neighborhood.

Daniel Arsham has a proud return at YoungArts.
One of South Florida’s most successful local talents, Daniel Arsham, returned with the interactive installation The Future Was Written at the YoungArts campus in midtown. The piece came with a curated exhibition of selected works from Arsham’s career. As an artist, he’s interested in the notion of construction — related to the past, present, or future. His sculptures are concrete casts of salient modern artifacts — basketballs, electric guitars, pay phones, etc. They are projections of what archaeological specimens will look like at some point in time.

There is no better place to ring in the New Year than Miami!

Of course New York City is still an amazing place to celebrate but it is cold and crowded. In Miami, you can party ’til the break of dawn on the beach or at an ocean front nightclub.
